One big problem pet owners face in regards to lawn care is dog urine burns the grass. I have seen all kinds of theories over the years on how to stop this dog urine burning, and some work and some dont. The key here guys, is to use two or three methods!
That’s right, there is no ONE WAY to stop dog urine from burning your lawn. You have to have a 3-pronged attack.
The first way to stop dog urine grass burn is take care of the inside of the dog, and that being Grass Saver Tablets that neutralize much of the acidity in the urine.
The next thing to use is the doggie pee pole or fire hydrant. These neat little posts attract your dog to them naturally so he will want to pee in the same spot each time. This way only one area of the lawn is effected by the urine.
And the final step is to attempt to water in the pee. This is not one that you have to do all the time, but if possible, get right in after your dog and dump a 3-gallon bucket-full of water on the area after he or shes goes to the bathroom.
If you try this three-pronged attack, you will have much better success in saving your lawn from dog urine burn.
